Dan has served as my mentor for the last 2, going on 3, years. I was a “task master” that needed guidance on how to become a vocal leader and manager of others. Before our first meeting, Dan asked me to come prepared with a list of my strengths vs. weaknesses. This simple self-evaluation is a theme that has carried through our meetings since. In any topic of discussion, Dan reinforces the importance that I determine what my style is, look at how I am preparing, what are my thoughts and opinions – I need to learn who I am, what I have to offer and what I want to accomplish – what is my voice?

As a very strong introvert, speaking up and vocalizing ideas, thoughts, and opinions was an area that offered the greatest opportunity for growth. Dan pushed and challenged me to put myself into situations outside of my comfort zone, reminding me to continually analyze what went well, what worked, what didn’t, where were the shortcomings. With each challenge my confidence grew and in turn I discovered not only do I have a voice, but my voice is powerful. This has enabled me to begin seeing where I can make a true impact and start taking action.

Dan’s mentorship and coaching has helped me to go from the entry level employee terrified to speak in meetings, to a young professional providing constructive input in conversations and learning how I can apply this to managing others. Dan is a talented and passionate coach; with him in my box I know my voice will continue to grow and evolve in the years to come. My story has only just begun.
